Lynda Brown appreciation

LYNDA BROWN
(December 1950 – April 2012)

Lynda was a long-standing member of Helensburgh Amateur Athletic Club, having joined around 1990 after moving to Helensburgh from Falkirk, where she was a member of Polmont Running club.
Lynda ran many marathons and half marathons during her running career, in particular completing the Great North Run no fewer than 22 times which entitled her to a special coloured number.
At the club, over and above her own training and encouraging others to run, she could always be found behind the tea counter at our annual 10k Polaroid race, serving the many runners and helpers at the race, and also marshalled at our Half Marathon.
Along with Kathleen, she was in the kitchen cooking our haggis, neeps and tatties at our very successful annual very successful Burns Night Suppers.
She will be very sorely missed by everyone at the club.
